Over de les
This class is fully packed with information and practice of the mechanics of yoga. Roberts starts with sharing options for starting your morning practice, based upon his extensive knowledge and experience.
He then guides us through a practice of different pranayama and kriya techniques and explains in detail the difference between kapalahati and bhastrika pranayama.
The physical practice is build around the subject of lower back or hip pain. Robert noticed that due too a sedentary lifestyle (worse in times of the pandemic) and commuting by car creates more and more problems for people's lower back and right hip. Caused by misalignment of the SI-joint.
In a series of cyclic twisting he explains the correct way of stretching muscles, helping to release the fascia and releave joint pain. We practice further with different procedures of hip opening using blocks for support.
Robert also covers Down Facing Dog in great detail and practicing a variety using feet on the wall to get different effects.
We go further into the subject of hip opening in a lying position, using blocks. These specific postures help to prepare you for headstand and meditation.
Robert finishes class with focus on strengthening the outer hip and a few variations of supported backbending.
It is a wonderful class for practice but also for deepening your knowledge of yoga mechanics and how to practice safely and effectively.
