This class focusses around the subject of 'floating' from the Ashtanga Yoga tradition. Robert dives deep into the necessary preparations for floating (controlled jumping) between poses.
The class is an alternation between practicing a variety of asanas and anatomic explanation. Robert teaches several Pralaya-based asanas that help improve arm strength and create the correct muscle balance for opening the shoulder joint. He complements the practice with detailed explanation of the anatomy of the shoulder joint and how to avoid or heal an injured shoulder. He also includes strengthening legs and outer hips, in order to open the hip joints necessary for floating.
