Three Boons Foundation - Forward Bend Special 95 ENGLISH
In our Three Boons Foundation classes, we explore basic postural alignment and principles of yoga philosophy that serve as the building blocks for developing a balanced yet profound yoga practice. Today’s class will have a special focus on forward bends. Forward bending takes us into our past, teaching us how to resolve old issues by letting go of negative emotions that become trapped in the hamstrings, hips, and back. After a short kriya cleansing practice, a warm-up sequence, and some sun salutations, we will explore in detail forward bends such as:
* paschimottanasana (Seated Forward Bend)
* janu shirshasana (Head-to-Knee Seat)
* agnistambhasana (Ankle-to-Knee Seat)
* ardha matsyendrasana (Fish)
The class will also introduce the traditional Jivamukti shoulderstand sequence at the end and conclude with a relaxing final relaxation. This class format is suitable for beginner yoga students and anyone interested in investigating yoga practice through its foundational principles. Here, you will learn “from scratch” how to properly approach the individual asanas (yoga postures) that are commonly practiced in our Three Boons and Jivamukti Open classes, presented in a vinyasa (sequenced) format.

In unseren Three Boons Foundation Klassen erforschen wir die grundlegenden Ausrichtungsprinzipien der Yogapraxis und die dahinter stehende Yoga-Philosophie, welche die fundamentalen Bausteine für die Entwicklung einer ausgewogenen und tief gehenden Yoga-Praxis sind. Die heutige Klasse ist ein Special mit Fokus auf Vorwärtsbeugen. Vorwärtsbeugen führen uns in unsere Vergangenheit und lehren uns, alte Themen zu lösen, indem wir negative Emotionen loslassen, die sich in den Oberschenkelmuskeln, Hüften und im Rücken festsetzen können. Nach einer kurzen Kriya Reinigungspraxis, einer Aufwärmsequenz und einigen Sonnengrüßen werden wir Vorwärtsbeugen im Detail erforschen, z.B.:

* agnistambhasana (Knöchel-zu-Knie-Sitz)

Die Klasse wird außerdem am Ende die traditionelle Jivamukti-Schulterstand-Sequenz einführen und mit einer entspannenden Abschlussentspannung enden. Diese Klasse eignet sich für Yoga-Anfänger und für alle, die daran interessiert sind, die Yoga-Praxis aus der Sicht ihrer Grundprinzipien anzugehen. Hier lernst du „von Grund auf“, wie du die einzelnen Asanas (Yogastellungen), die wir in unseren Three Boons und Jivamukti Open Klassen dann im Vinyasa (auf fließenden Yogasequenzen basierte Klassen) unterrichten, richtig ausführst.
Over de docent
Sascha has been regularly practicing asana since 2015 and Zen meditation since 2020. By 2024 she has completed 335+ h of advanced Teacher Training at Three Boons under the compassionate guidance of Anja Kühnel, Annie Schwalm and Hilli Hahn. Today Sascha continues her study of yoga as a mentee of Anja-ji, to whose big heart and wisdom she owes so much. Sasha says: „I believe that happiness and freedom are the essence of our being. Yoga is the way to live in the world - spiritually, ethically, bodily - that enables us to recognize the deep innate harmony of existence. Yoga is a path of transformation, learning and being in love with life. I am endlessly grateful to all the teachers and students, who adhered to walking this path together.“ Outside of studio Sascha is an anthropologist and an artist, organizing community projects bridging culture and education.
